Premature adolescent autonomy: Parent disengagement and deviant peer process in the amplification of problem behavior

Article Abstract:

The vibrant expansion of premature autonomy discusses the situation wherein the parents of high-risk adolescents lessen the amount of their participation and suggestions when tackling problems and the effects of deviant friendships. Moreover, the adolescent males who are engaged in deviant friendships and whose parents have reduced their participation in family management are at a high risk of using marijuana and resort to antisocial acts at the age of eighteen.

Peer and adult relationships of adolescents with disabilities

Article Abstract:

The adolescents perceived that their disability had always restricted them in making social relations with their peers and that their disability was the reason why peers saw them as different. An adolescents-centered approach is presented, which stresses the importance of communicating with disabled adolescents about their perceptions of important relationships to peers and adults.
