Profile patterns, consistency, and change in the Millon clinical multiaxial inventory-II in cocaine abusers

Article Abstract:

Profile characteristics, scale change and stability patterns of three groups of cocaine abusers are examined using the Millon clinical Multiaxial inventory-II (MCMI-II). Scales of antisocial, aggressive/sadistic, narcissistic, passive-aggressive, borderline, drug dependence, and alcoholic dependence, both at the time of intake and discharge from treatment, show MCMI-II elevations. Stability coefficients are equivalent on the scales of basic and pathological personalities and symptoms.

Clinical interventions by psychologists with lesbians and gay men

Article Abstract:

A study of 139 psychologists to investigate their attitudes towards lesbians and gay men and the techniques of intervention they use shows that 11% preferred psychoanalytic techniques and 5.8% used aversion therapy to change sexual orientation. Those psychotherapists who were trained before 1970 showed more negative attitudes towards lesbian/gay individuals than those who were trained after 1978.

Effects of preinterview suggestion on counselor memory, clinical impression, and confidence in judgments

Article Abstract:

A study of the impact of specific preinterview propositions on counselor memory, clinical impression, and judgement confidence reveals that these interviews fail to influence the clinical impression rating of the client and provide a weak but useful validatory memory. The study examined recognition memory in Master's-degree counselor-trainees. The suggestions for clinical settings are discussed.
