Purging behaviors and comorbidity as predictive factors of quality of life in anorexia nervosa

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to identify the predictive factors for the physical and mental summary components (PCS and MCS) of the SF-36 Health Questionnaire in patients with anorexia nervosa. Findings indicated that patients with anorexia nervosa had a poor quality of life, especially in the mental health dimension, thus suggesting the importance of comorbidity and purging behaviors in this respect.

Anorexia nervosa and gender identity disorder in biologic males: A report of two cases

Article Abstract:

Two cases of anorexia nervosa (AN) and gender identity disorder (GID) in biologic males who presented to an eating disorders service are reported. It is suggested that GID might be more commonly associated with AN in males than was previously recognized, and that GID might, in association with AN, be heterogeneous in its etiology and clinical presentation.
