Repression and high anxiety are associated with aberrant diurnal cortisol rhythms in women with metastatic breast cancer

Article Abstract:

A study of the personality or coping styles, which are associated with differences in diurnal coritsol rhythm in women with metastatic breast cancer, is presented. The results show that high-anxious/repressor groups have significant aberrant cortisol rhythms compared with the self-assured and nonextreme groups, which lead to a greater understanding of individual differences in cardiac rhythmicity in women with breast cancer.
