Revisiting the concept of sexual motivation

Article Abstract:

The author offers an Incentive Sequence Model to describe and predict multi-species sexual motivation in terms of appetitive, precopulatory, and consummatory phases. This model will accommodate associative and nonassociative learning, priming, reward, internal feedback and context in controlling internal mechanisms.

Understanding acute alcohol effects on sexual behavior

Article Abstract:

Drinking alcoholic beverages appears to have a causal effect on many aspects of human sexual behavior. Alcohol expectancy appears to account for postdrinking sexual reaction and perception, while alcohol myopia analyses persuasively explain postdrinking manifestations of sexual assault and sexual risk taking.

Does alcohol lead to sexual risk behavior? Findings from event-level research

Article Abstract:

Event-level research suggests people who use condoms while sober tend to use them after drinking alcohol, and those who do not use condoms also do not use them when drinking. This finding challenges the widely-held belief that alcohol use leads to sexual risk behavior.
