Sexual abuse histories of adolescent male sex offenders: differences on the basis of the age and gender of their victims

Article Abstract:

A study conducted on the history of adolescent male sex offenders indicates that sexual offenders who assault male children are more likely to be victims of sexual abuse. Around 75% of adolescent sex offenders involved in at least one assault on a male child have a history of sexual abuse, compared to only 25% of those involved in assaults on female children, peers or adult. However, victimization may only be a part of other problems such as family violence, bad relationships with peers or lack of empathy.

Gender, jealousy, and reason

Article Abstract:

The extent to which men and women consider both emotional and sexual infidelity as implying each other, determines the type of infidelity they consider as bothering them. Sexual infidelity bothers men more since they consider sexual infidelity as unlikely to occur without any emotional infidelity. On the other hand, sexual infidelity bothers women less as compared to emotional infidelity, since they believe that men can have sex without being emotionally involved.
