The properties of stainless steel make it the preferred material of the food processing industry. Stainless steel is known for its durability and ease of maintenance. It surfaces also not contaminate food and discourage bacterial growth. One of the more common uses of stainless steel is on wastewater drainage channels. These channels are covered with stainless steel gratings which accommodate high flow rates and allow easy removal for cleaning.
