The road to Rapallo: a psychiatric study

Article Abstract:

A reprint is presented of an article, written in 1949, on the awarding of the Bollingen Prize in Poetry to Ezra Pound and its political and artistic implications, such as a wariness of fascist proscriptions expanding to the literary field. A discussion is also included on Pound's stay in a psychiatric hospital, and whether his work was morbid or incendiary.

AACP standards: a historical overview (1978 to 1980)

A historic account is given of the development of the American Association for Correctional Psychology (AACP) practice standards between 1978 and 1980. The American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association and the AACP were all involved in the construction and refinement of the standards.

The mad and the bad in state institutions

Article Abstract:

An examination is presented on the rising incarceration rate of the mentally ill despite a drop in the frequency and severity of their crimes. The difference between criminality and mental illness is discussed.
