Rotary International - a private partner in a public health battle: a model for psychology?

Article Abstract:

Professional psychologists should learn from the success of the Rotary International in influencing public health issues. Rotary's PolioPlus program, a multi-sectoral project which aimed to eliminate poliomyelitis in endemic and vulnerable populations, is an inspiring model of collaboration among the public, private health providers and volunteer associations. Psychologists can follow the example of Rotary in addressing social issues such as child abuse and mental health problems.
