The Goteborg discotheque fire: Posttraumatic stress, and school adjustment as reported by the primary victims 18 months later

Article Abstract:

Study is carried out to relate the measures of posttraumatic stress experienced and general psychopathology to the time missed from school reported by the adolescents, and to school adjustment 18 months after the fire. It is found that the traditional talking cures are more sought by girls than boys and it is also observed that victims who suffer from high level of stress need special support for a long period of time to minimize the effects on scholastic achievement and adjustment.
