Special report - what's new at NeXT: 32-bit color, real-time video, and Quark

Article Abstract:

NeXT Inc's NeXT computer may be finally living up to the good reviews it received in 1988 as the best publishing computer ever made, with its new family of computers designed to solve earlier complaints about slow speed and high price. The four new computers were designed to attract workgroup publishers, computer-aided design designers, graphic artists and others. Nextstation Color costs $7,995. The NeXTstation, priced at $4,995, includes NeXT's 16-inch, 1,120-x-832-pixel resolution gray-scale Mega-Pixel Display. NeXTcube, for $7,995, is an upgrade of the original gray-scale NeXT system with storage options. NeXTdimension is a 32-bit, high-end color system priced at $13,990 for the cube, MegaPixel Color Display and upgrade board.
