All spaced out

Article Abstract:

Cambridgeshire planning survey

Article Abstract:

The local authorities in Cambridgeshire, England, were uncertain how they would find sufficient space for the new housing provision demanded by the UK government. The government requires 45,000 new houses to be built in Cambridgeshire by 2016, yet some areas have very little brownfield land for redevelopment. South Cambridgeshire district council takes eight weeks on average to deal with planning applications in contrast to Huntingdonshire district council which makes a decision on only 51% of its planning applications by eight weeks.
