Chorus of disapproval

Article Abstract:

A survey of property agents working in the City of London, England, has found some 60% of agents felt property occupiers did not realise the possible consequences of the rating revaluation due in Apr 2000. Richard Ellis St Quintin's Nicholas Maclean points out the authorities have suggested the ratable value may rise on average by 117%. King Sturge and Co., Melanie Smith suggests in order to allow companies to manage such large increases it is likely a transition period will be introduced. Many agents will suggest their clients should appeal against the new rates.
