Counting on further expansion

Article Abstract:

The city of Leicester, England, is continuing to prosper as a retailing city, with 668,880 sq mt of retail space. The 50,800 sq mt Shires shopping centre is largely responsible for the city's popularity as a shopping venue, with latest tenants including Gap and La Senza. The office sector is led by local companies and there is little good-quality office space available in the town centre. In the industrial market, warehouse space is at a premium and rent levels could be on the rise.

Space wars

Article Abstract:

There is about 342 million square feet of industrial stock in Birmingham, England, but a large proportion of this comprises owner-occupied facilities or is stock of secondary quality. Some agents are concerned that demand may exceed supply, with new building restricted in the area and new premises already having a low vacancy rate. Confidence is growing in the light industrial sector, with manufacturing accounting for 50% of industrial inquiries and warehousing the remainder.

Grand plans in a go-slow market

Article Abstract:

The commercial and industrial property market in Bromley, England, is slow, with a low level of demand in the area. Real estate agents report that the market was quiet during the last quarter of 1994, but inquiries were more encouraging in January 1995. The office development sector is showing signs of life, although there is a dearth of new office buildings. An analysis of the industrial and commercial property market in Bromley is presented.
