Inside job

Article Abstract:

Being seconded to work within a client firm can be a useful and rewarding experience for a surveyor, although the practice does hold some dangers. UK surveying firm Drivers Jonas believes that seconding its staff to clients helps develop both the person being seconded and also the client's business. Secondment also offers the person being seconded the opportunity to work on a less structured basis, to improve knowledge of the firm's culture, and gain easier access to important decision-makers. However, there is a danger that the surveyor will be poached by the client firm.

Busy stretches along motorway

Article Abstract:

A number of business developments have taken place along the M62 in South and West Yorkshire recently. These include Commercial Development Projects' Lowfields Business Park at Elland, which is the largest office scheme at the western end of the M62 corridor, and schemes at junctions 27 and 32. In the retail sector, the White Rose Centre on the south-west outskirts of Leeds could have an impact on the smaller centres in the M62 corridor.
