Interstate 64: location activity cranking up on the new east-west 'auto alley'

Article Abstract:

Recent investments by the automobile industry seems to be concentrated on the states lined by Interstate 64, which straddles Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia. Interstate 64 is touted to replace Interstate 65 and Interstate 75 as the next 'auto alley', where automobile manufacturers establish their facilities. The advantage of the I-64 to the automobile industry is the huge number of auto parts manufacturers located near the highway, which largely reduces the logistics requirements of manufacturers.
