The German educational system is closely related to the business and industrial sector. Students who finish their elementary education in the Grundschule or primary school are guided to three choices for secondary education. Gymnasium or high school is academically-oriented serving as foundation for professional careers. The Realschule or intermediate high school emphasizes education for middle and non-professional careers while the Hauptschule is oriented towards more vocational careers.

Lamberto Alvarez is a famous, prize-winning illustrator who uses bold colors with a variety of styles in his works. Alvarez credits his father for being a great influence on his work by making him aware of the important contributions Mexicans artists made to the visual history of their country. He believes America as a land with better scope and opportunity and feels that he has built a bridge that crosses over the turbulent waters of bigotry and blame to a land of promise and plenty.
