Lucrative preservation

Article Abstract:

It is becoming increasingly difficult to secure attractive retail units in Chester, England. There are a number of plans for retail development in the city, including a 30 million pounds sterling second phase of The Forum shopping centre on Town Hall Square. This will produce larger, regular-shaped retail units, and will also cover the market. In the office property market, the most attractive property is Scottish Widows' Chester Business Park, where rents have reached very high levels. Office rents in the centre of Chester remain relatively low.

Camden unlocks

Article Abstract:

The demand for new office buildings in Camden, North London, England, is outstripping supply causing rents to rise. A new leisure facility is planned at Suffolk Walk which will include retail outlets, a hotel, offices and restaurants. Some residential development is under progress at Camden Pavilions. The retail market is underdeveloped with few of the major retailing chains able to find sufficient space. Camden is well-known for its weekly clothes market.

Heading for the top of the class

Article Abstract:

There is currently strong demand for retail accommodation in the Knightsbridge area of London, England. This is pushing rents up, with zone A property now commanding around 3,230 pounds sterling per sq mt. There has been a particular revival for Sloane Street, which is attracting top name retailers such as Armani and Pollini. This street is now seen as a key London fashion location, while Bond Street is regarded as more traditional.
