MPs take up battle of Berkshire

Many residents of the county of Berkshire feel that it is inappropriate to undertake further housing development there. All Berkshire MPs have now written a letter to John Gummer, secretary of state for the environment, expressing their concern about the local structure plan's housing provision. The county maintains that only 37,000 homes should be built, compared with the initial government proposal of 48,000.
