Market spotlight: property crunch looms in Europe's heartland

The boom-bust property market that is sweeping Europe's heartland is pummelling even the keenest corporate real estate companies. Hit by the market crash in 1993, real estate developers suspended too long its projects, then embarked on projects sans a complete house of committed tenants, according to analaysts. Knight Frank Amsterdam partner Jan van Gool says that the developers should have envisioned demand.
