Out of the woods: both Colchester and Chelmsford are harbouring plans which have the potential to reshape the commercial property landscape

Article Abstract:

There is pressure to release new land in Chelmsford and Colchester as the economy recovers. In Colchester, the council has recently introduced a major marketing campaign, Colchester Curriculum Vitae, which aims to attract inward investment, but the release of land adjoining the A12 road to house new business will depend on the completion of the new northern approach road. Chelmsford borough council together with Essex country council, are planning to develop derelict land between the River Chelmer and the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation, but this will depend on funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Arts Lottery Fund and the Millennium Commission.
