Perfecting the formula

Article Abstract:

Science parks have become increasingly attractive to leading property companies and institutional investors in the UK since the 1980s. It has become clear that science parks are commercially sustainable investments in which mainstream developers and investors are interested. There are also indications that science parks are becoming less connected with universities, at least in a physical sense. The science park sector has become more established, and this has led to channels of finance for additional investment in older science parks becoming more established too.

Balanced argument

Article Abstract:

Mixed views are being expressed in South Yorkshire, England, about the availability of industrial property. Some observers feel that there is a severe shortage of high quality modern accommodation and sites, while others believe that demand is gradually diminishing. If there really is a shortage of land and buildings, South Yorkshire will experience difficulties with attracting inward investment and it will be difficult for indigenous industries, particularly smaller manufacturers, to grow.

Recycling space

Article Abstract:

The amount of space for industrial units has fallen by 20% in three years, therefore many companies are either occupying secondhand space or using the design and build alternative. Most companies want modern premises, and many spaces between 10 and 20 years old are still serviceable. Flexibility and a cheaper option are advantages, and with good management can heighten returns.
