Article Abstract:

The management of Hammerson has tried to involve all levels of employees in the business to help them feel they are contributing to its success. They have developed breakfast meetings where employees meet to listen to others describe their jobs. All of the staff are brought together to hear the company directors set out plans for the following year. The human resources director has between 500-2,000 pounds sterling, per employee, to spend on training. Hammerson have won an Investor in People (IiP) award. The IiP award is given by a UK government agency to reward investment in workers.

A sovereign institution

Article Abstract:

The Crown Estate is inherited by the sovereign of the United Kingdom. Income from the estate totals 90.1 million pounds sterling gross. Most of the income comes from residential and commercial property worth 1.53 billion pounds sterling. The estate also includes 300,000 acres of land, the seabed, Ascot Racecourse and Windsor Great Park.
