Role for minor players

Article Abstract:

Local agents in Tamworth, Staffordshire, suggest the region is popular with industrial and distribution occupiers because of its central location within the United Kingdom. The needs of smaller occupiers have not be satisfactorily fulfilled as much of the land is being developed for larger concerns. The retail market is thriving, with the Ankerside Shopping Centre letting outlets in its phase two. The expansion in housing occupation, in Tamworth, has created a larger market for retail goods. Some 65% of the Tame Park development is already let to medium sized occupiers.

Good news in the pipeline

Article Abstract:

Industrial development in the Tyne & Wear region has been greatly assisted by the the Tyne & Wear Development Corporation. Areas which have been designated as enterprise zones are also in demand from industrial developers and occupiers. Speculative building has gone on at the Team Valley site, with 600 companies now located on the estate. The South Tyneside region has not developed so quickly as the North but English partnerships are spending 6 million pounds sterling in developing an new industrial park at a former cokeworks in the South.
