Securitisation: making its mark

Article Abstract:

Securitisation is increasing in importance in the UK and could help create new sources of funding for the UK real estate industry. Income flow from real estate investment can be used to sell products in the international capital market with rental income used for paying interest on bonds. Institutions in the UK, Europe and Far East are possible takers for paper issued through this process. Lenders can increase their lending power since their liabilities are reduced.

He established a core strategic management team, encouraging responsibility throughout the divisions. He has been keen to improve communications through a new in-house magazine and has rationalized the investment portfolio, turning over 1.2 billion pounds sterling of property.

Property basket warrants issued by SBC Warburg

Investment bank SBC Warburg is making available 20 million pounds sterling of warrants through which investors can speculate on the future performance of shares in Brixton Estate, British Land, Land Securities and Great Portland Estates. Each stock in the UK Large Cap Property Basket has been selected for its exposure to high-performance areas of the direct property market.
