Signs of strain along the food chain

Article Abstract:

Retail development in Crewe and Nantwich, England, has petered out whilst industrial opportunities are expanding. The large open-air shopping centre at Victoria Centre, owned by the Asda supermarket chain, will not be covered because future expansion is unlikely. The brewery industry is interested in the area, however, at sites around town such as Western Road. Industrial developements are in great demand, because of a low number of speculative investments. Used buildings are almost fully utilised.

Ugly duckling or just plain ugly?

Article Abstract:

Westminster city council has for some time attempted to concentrate office development work in the West End of London, England, in the Paddington area. However, these plans have been hampered by the economic slump and by companies' unwillingness to relocate to Paddington. Property agents hope that the construction of a direct rail link to Paddington from Heathrow Airport will serve to boost the property market in the area.
