Article Abstract:

Real estate developers, in the UK, are becoming more interested in refurbishing 1960s multi storey buildings, in order to improve use of space and to upgrade the quality of the building. Any refurbishment has to be planned carefully to add services, such as air conditioning and access to a an ample power supply for new technology equipment. The facade of a building may need to renewed and inside, additional lifts may be added. Extensive refurbishment work on a building at 338 Euston Road, London, England, increased its value.

Availability of prime office space in Guildford, England, has fallen considerably recently, a trend which is causing great concern for property agents. They feel that development work will have to begin soon if the town's office property sector is to survive. There is also a shortage of available industrial space, and the only place with large volumes available is Slyfield, Guildford's largest industrial estate.

Leading the way

Several sites of former offices are being converted to residential premises, which may cut down the oversupply of available office space.
