Site selection in Europe: understanding change and diversity

Article Abstract:

Opportunities for American firms to operate in the European Community are growing. However, taking advantage of these opportunities requires careful planning and decision making. Corporate aims must be well defined before a site is chosen. Furthermore, regional differences and cultural diversities need to be taken into account before deciding on a European location. Finally, it should be understood that Europeans look more to long-term gains rather than immediate success, which will mean that achievement of goals will take time and much effort.
