Plus ca change

Article Abstract:

Industry experts suggest the introduction of the euro will help to stimulate property markets of the members of the European Monetary Union (EMU), which may be detrimental to investment in the UK. Yet some 3.2 billion pounds sterling was invested in UK property, by foreign investors, during 1998. Some observers anticipate tenants will demand greater flexibility of use in their office space and many companies will try to maximize the use of their offices. The UK's position outside the EMU may impact British investors wanting to invest in the property markets in Europe.
