Structural strengths

Article Abstract:

Traditional file structures are not suitable for integrated corporate systems therefore databases which are managed by database management systems (DMBS) should be used. Traditional methods of storing information, on a computer, are useful for stand-alone systems, such as a tenant file. But for usage by several departments the traditional approach leads to data being held on file in more than one area, which can cause data redundancy and inconsistency. The storage of data by a DBMS can be made on three types of database, network, relational and hierarchical.

Article Abstract:

There is no quick or easy way to successfully install a computer system, according to 'Plan for Success,' a guide published by Business Computer Projects. The guide focuses on four main areas of system implementation: pre-sales, pre-installation, implementation and post-implementation. It splits implementation into several subphases, including file creation, training, parallel running and live running. It also looks in detail at the problems connected with parallel running.
