Shopping service

Article Abstract:

The retail property market in Swindon, England, has been dominated recently by BAA McArthur Glen's 40 million pounds sterling Great Western Designer Outlet Village. Other significant developments include the 20 million pounds sterling refurbishment of the Brunel centre, where almost all the larger units are now occupied. The town centre is likely to improve as a result of cooperation between the town centre manager, agents and occupiers. There have been significant improvements recently in Swindon's industrial property sector, as shown by speculative shed development.

Too soft by half

Article Abstract:

The retail property market in St Albans, England, remains relatively underdeveloped. The Maltings shopping centre is only just beginning to thrive, while Christopher Place, the town's other main shopping centre, is still experiencing difficulties. The weak performance of the retail property market contrasts sharply with that of the office property market, where recent deals have taken up a large proportion of the remaining space.
