Article Abstract:

Demand for new large industrial buildings is buoyant in Swindon, England, although the market for space around 50,000-80,000 sq ft is slow. Some 37,000 sq ft of office space remains vacant in Swindon. But the demand for offices is showing signs of improvement. Local agents are hopeful the introduction of a park-and-ride scheme will help relieve the lack of parking facilities which also impact demand for offices. The refurbishment of the Brunel Centre will help improve the retail market in the town. Swindon as an unemployment rate of only 2.5%.

Article Abstract:

The retail and commercial property markets in Northwich, England, are likely to be very negatively affected over the next few years by the presence of two abandoned salt mines underneath the town centre. These could become seriously unstable, and extensive investment will be required to make them safe. Middlewich, England, a neighbouring mid-Cheshire town, has a number of large distribution centres. Winsford, England, has had extensive industrial property development in the past, and this has created a surplus of secondary space.
