Telecom infrastructure: the new facility backbone

Article Abstract:

Demand for high-speed Internet access, telephony and video-conferencing services is likely to increase in the new millenium, as telecommunications accessibility continues to be a critical element of industrial site selection. Industry members have done an efficient job in recognizing these needs that they have adopted the necessary measures in enhancing their telecommunication capabilities. While some have increased their infrastructure investments, others have developed means of integrating various digital communication services under a single platform for optimal service.

Four Californian cities feature in Yahoo! Internet Life magazine's fourth annual ranking of 'Most Wired Cities.' California cities also accounted for the top three markets in terms of broadband use or significant interest in using broadband.
