The lodging property index

Article Abstract:

The American Hotel and Motel Assn, recognizing the need for a benchmark measure of lodging property returns, has launched the Industry Real Estate Financing Advisory Council (IREFAC) Lodging Property Index. The index's distinguising characteristics are described. A discussion of how the index will be expanded to meet the needs of those interested in lodging property investment performance is included.

The increasing need for live/work housing has come about due to the demand of today's knowledge economy, where they can live and work at the same time. This type of housing has evolved from artists' studio spaces, and now has attracted entrepreneurs and freelance professionals. Details on this trend and the development of live/work neighborhoods and buildings are discussed.

The varying seasonality of house prices

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the existence or non-existence of seasonality for different areas during one short single time period, however, the seasonality changes over time was not tested. The reports stated that different areas experienced different housing price changes because of area-specific factors and population growth.
