An analysis of the 2005 Japanese general election: Will Koizumi's political reforms endure?

Article Abstract:

Japan's Prime Minister Koizumi Junichiro has made efforts to reform both Japan's economy and his ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) after coming back to power with a landslide victory in the 2005 election. But doubts are raised regarding the enduring impact of his political reforms on either his party or electoral politics.

Development, democratization, and security policies have a complex and often troubled relationship in Nepal. This relationship is explored in terms of both the grievance underlying the insurgency and the government's overall security and development responses.

Land tenure, democracy, and insurgency in Nepal: Peasant support for insurgency versus democracy

Article Abstract:

The ability of the Nepal's Maoist party to mobilize peasants for insurgency, which is a dangerous thing as compared to convincing them to vote, which is less risky, has been elaborated.
