Modeling and estimation of export equations within a multisectoral model: the Indian case

Article Abstract:

A trade model embedded in a multisectoral econometric model was presented using India's international trade as an index. The model assumes that domestic and export prices are endogenous, that the model is dynamic and that returns to scale are not restricted to being constant. Disaggregated estimates from the model turned out to be different from estimates obtained by aggregate analyses in other partial equillibrium models. The usefulness of the trade model in analyzing the economies of other countries was discussed.

A model of rural-urban migration and fertility

Article Abstract:

By designing a simple human capital model of migration and fertility, an attempt is made to analyze the interrelations between rural-urban migration and fertility. A 'reproduction function' is used in which realized births depend on both the preferences of parents and the supply of births (fecundity).
