Pakistan in 2004: Running very fast to stay in the same place

Article Abstract:

Pakistan's civilizing military regime during the year 2004 continued its attempts to balance two seemingly irreconcilable goals, to democratize and stabilize Pakistan's deeply divided political system and to maintain official support. Pakistan in 1992: waiting for change

Article Abstract:

The political situation in Pakistan may be discouraging but the country has successfully managed its economy and foreign relations in 1992.
