The thrill rides in thrill rides and roller coasters has continually escalated over the years as the bar is raised on what it takes to scare an amusement park patron. Amusement parks try to one-up each other to stay competitive, and some observers are worried that the rides have gone too far. An analysis of the industry and of recent accidents is presented.
