Damning truths which offer the road to reconciliation

Article Abstract:

The report of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission offers a valuable insight into the motives and perspectives of those responsible for shootings, abductions, murder and torture. However, the commission has been most influential in seeking to bring about reconciliation. Some people have been exonerated as a result of the commission's work, while those who were the victims of apartheid atrocities have been able to tell their story for the first time, thus instigating the healing process. Furthermore, many apologies have been made.

Geoffrey Hubbard

Article Abstract:

Geoffrey Hubbard was director of the United Kingdom Council for Educational Technology (CET), an independent organization funded by the Education and Science Department. CET became a key influence on United Kingdom educational method under the leadership of Hubbard. He retired from CET in 1986 and this permitted him to become more involved in the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, of which he was a trustee. He also helped in the recovery of the National Extension College, in Cambridge, England.
