A glimpse of hope and harmony

Article Abstract:

The Fine Art Society in London, England, is currently holding an exhibition of the work of Edward Ravilious, who worked as an official war artist during the second world war. His work includes a very striking series of submarine lithographs made during the summer of 1940. He was responsible for some of the most memorable images in 20th century art in the UK, but the unusual nature of his work has meant that it has not been displayed very frequently.

The secret life of Snow White

Article Abstract:

Artist Paula Rego's latest project involves allowing humans to imitate animals, thus going against the view of animals with human characteristics created by Disney films such as 'Snow White' and 'Fantasia.' She emphasises that she is not attempting to deconstruct these films, but is rather paying tribute to Disney. She regards Disney as a brilliant, secret Surrealist, but sheds new light on the traditional Disney approach.

A taste of things to come

Article Abstract:

Art dealer Jay Jopling is only 32, but has already established himself as a key figure in contemporary British art. He has mainly been so successful because he shares the same views as his artists, who include Antony Gormley and Damien Hirst. He believes that it is vital for British art to be promoted internationally, and for this reason he also attends some international art fairs.
