Accounts reveal Archer raised 1m pounds sterling for Kurds

The Simple Truth concert staged in May 1991 raised only 1 million pounds sterling for the Iraqi Kurds, according to the accounts of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees. It had been widely reported that this appeal, spearheaded by Jeffrey Archer, raised 57 million pounds sterling.

Retired hospital consultant Richard Taylor gained a majority of 17,630 in Wyre Forest, England, in the 2001 general election. He campaigned under the auspices of the Independent Kidderminster Hospital and Health Concern Party on the issue of the scaling down of local emergency services.

Tragic tale of a child unwanted from day of her birth

Article Abstract:

The case of Lauren Wright, who was neglected by her birth parents and physically and emotionally abused by her stepmother, is discussed. Doctors, teachers and social workers failed to take the action necessary to prevent her eventual death at the hands of her stepmother.
