Someone in Hull is a 1m pounds sterling winner. In five days, they could be a loser

Article Abstract:

Someone who purchased a lottery ticket in Hull, England, in Jan 1999 has won 1,234,612 pounds sterling. However, this money has not yet been claimed, and the 180-day period during which it must be claimed is due to expire shortly. There was an unclaimed prize of 2.1 million pounds sterling from a lottery ticket purchased in the city in 1996, and in 1998 there was an unclaimed prize on a ticket purchased either in Hull or Cleethorpes, England.

America's defence shield is back on track with a bang

The US has undertaken the fourth test of its planned missile defence system. It will take some time to assess the results of the test, but officials claim that an interceptor 'kill vehicle' successfully located and destroyed a ballistic missile containing a dummy nuclear warhead.

After 415 days in Burma jail, freed Briton says he's not going back

Pro-democracy campaigner James Mawdsley has been deported from Burma after spending 415 days in solitary confinement. He has stated that he does not intend to return again to Burma, where he had already been arrested twice previously.
