Aitken swaps the sword of truth for the pen of fiction

Article Abstract:

It is believed that the novel currently being written by disgraced former UK cabinet minister Jonathan Aitken deals with a public figure whose reputation is damaged by the envy and cynicism of others. Aitken still faces a Scotland Yard inquiry into allegations that he perjured himself while taking legal action for libel against the television programme 'World in Action' and the Guardian newspaper. He has already paid his own legal bill, amounting to around 800,000 pounds sterling, and must also pay the defendants' costs.
