An obsession beyond faith

Article Abstract:

Attempting to catch the style of the American preacher for the film 'The Apostle' was very interesting, according to actor and filmmaker Robert Duvall, who wrote, directed, financed and acted in the film. Playwright and screenwriter Horton Foote Jr generated support for the film, and Duvall's Sonny can be seen as a direct descendant of his previous work with Foote. Duvall, a Christian Scientist, hoped that the film would be accepted by both the secular and the religious communities.

Dogme is dead! Long live song and dance

Article Abstract:

The Dogme 95 manifesto was never intended to be a shield behind which filmmakers could hide, according to filmmaker Lars von Trier, who states that he and his three co-signatories to the manifesto will no longer authorize new Dogme films. He feels that he does not have the right personality to participate in collective resolutions. He emphasizes that the most important element of the Dogme 95 manifesto was that picture and sound should be recorded at the same time.
