The lady's not for burning

Article Abstract:

Copy protection installed on the latest CDs from Natalie Imbruglia and Five is preventing them being played on a Windows PC, some car stereos, the Playstation 2 and some DVD players. Why I'm quite happy to eat genetically modified food

Article Abstract:

There is no firm evidence so far that eating genetically modified foods is harmful to human health. There has been a great deal of misguided media speculation about the possible effects of eating genetically modified foods, but respected scientists have not identified any new evidence to indicate that there could be any negative health impacts. However, it is impossible to know with complete certainty whether genetically modified foods could be harmful, and for this reason they should be clearly labelled.

As Internet traffic reaches a peak of 220m words a second, total gridlock approaches

Article Abstract:

The volume of data passing over the Internet has expanded extremely rapidly since the mid-1990s. This is causing concern for the London Internet Exchange, which physically interconnects all the Internet service providers in the UK. One approach to solving the problem of rising demand is to install larger, faster computers as web servers, capable of transmitting files more rapidly to the telephone lines. Another option is 'cacheing,' with computers along the network holding exact copies of pages held elsewhere.
