Article Abstract:

Comedy writer Mike Myers grew up in a household where comedy was given a very high priority. He had a strange appearance as a child, and he used comedy as a defence mechanism. He joined the Second City comedy troupe in Toronto, Canada, straight from school, and after two years came to the UK, where he created 'The Sound Asleep Club.' After the death of his father, he stopped working for a while, but is now returning to the comedy scene with 'Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.'

Article Abstract:

Pop group 'Suede' is among 17 which have submitted recordings to feature on the 'Help!' album, which is being compiled to help children in Bosnia. The group decided to do a cover version of 'Shipbuilding,' a song which was co-written by Elvis Costello for Robert Wyatt and was felt to be particularly appropriate to the venture. This version is being produced by Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley, who have already had extensive involvement with the song when it was originally recorded.
