Britain declares war on the gun culture

Article Abstract:

The Labour party and backbench members of the Conservative party have been unable to persuade senior figures in the UK government to introduce a total ban on handguns. Instead, steps will be taken to ban all high-calibre and semi-automatic handguns from private homes and gun clubs. Some Conservative MPs believe that the government has gone too far, while others believe that it has not gone far enough. The Labour party has threatened to combine with smaller parties to defeat the government on the Guns Bill.

Gangs are no longer small working-class groups, but are highly sophisticated and often extremely violent. Gangs have traditionally had limited zones of influence, but there are signs that these zones are now beginning to grow and merge.
