Can Blair answer the Tory jibe?

Article Abstract:

The Labour party's education policy clearly contains inconsistencies at present, and these are being exploited by the Conservative party. Both parties are keen for all children to have access to a high standard of education, to raise standards and to deal with the worst schools. However, there are still problems with how these ideals are actually put into practice. The Labour party has introduced a number of initiatives on education, but these do not address the problem of the present system being unable to deliver the standards required. No real progress will be made until the party drops its opposition to selection.

They think it's all over. But then so did Mr Gore and the Democrats

Article Abstract:

It is wrong to assume without question that the UK Labour party will win the forthcoming general election. It is likely that this will happen, but it must be remembered that it was assumed in the US that Al Gore would win the presidential election, which he then failed to do.
