Can you earn as you learn?

Article Abstract:

Postgraduate courses can often be expensive, and students who do not receive any support from their parents or another source will have to consider how they will fund their postgraduate studies. Some take part-time employment, and often find that this is actually beneficial, as it forces them to use their time very effectively. It also makes them very aware of the need to demand high standards from their tutors. Others apply for a Research Studentship, which involves carrying out work for their university in return for the payment of tuition costs and a small maintenance grant.
