Famine, with all the trimmings

Article Abstract:

Western nations appear to be helping Third World countries through their aid budgets, but in fact the western world takes far more away from the developing world than it gives. Western unwillingness to deal with grinding poverty in the third world means that almost 1,000 million people still live on the brink of starvation. Trading structures remain extremely injust, and developing countries will never become richer while they are still under the burden of debt. It is now time to put pressure on western governments to address this issue.

Out of touch - by definition

Article Abstract:

Prince Philip has a long-standing reputation for making rather tactless comments. He is often impatient, and does not seem to take into consideration the feelings of the people he is talking to. Most recently, he has spoken out against the banning of handguns, stating that an implement such as a cricket bat could do as much damage as a gun. This remark, like many others, highlights the Prince's inability to step outside his own culture and into that of the vast majority of ordinary people.
